Lovers atWork Office Furniture is solidly established as the leader in office design and furnishings in Southwestern Ontario. Outfitting complete office spaces for some of the most recognizable companies and organizations in the region since 1983, they have a reputation for excellence in their field, both anticipating and meeting their clients’ needs.

The Lovers team aspires to stay on top of the trends in office design. A current trend – ‘resimercial’ spaces – combines the benefits of residential comfort with commercial efficiency. An additional trend atWork is driving is the creation of movement-based office spaces. The available research on sedentary workplaces clearly demonstrates the resulting health crises for employees. Lovers is committed to anticipating their clients’ future needs and designing spaces appropriate to those needs.

Rodney Lover, Director of Sales and Marketing, recognizes how the current business stands on the work and example of the previous generation. His grandfather, Robert Lover, came to Canada as a 12-year-old orphan in 1915. With a positive outlook and an incredible work ethic, Robert worked as a farmhand and, over time, made an excellent life for himself.

Years later, Rodney’s father, Dale, worked with his family in the Culloden, Ontario general store over which they lived and the pattern of family-based, entrepreneurial endeavours began. The current atWork Office Furniture family was started in 1983 by Dale after the closing of a small chain of department stores that Robert and he ran together.

Rodney looks back on the example set by his father and grandfather with an eye to duplicate the work ethic they modeled: “I think working hard honours both the opportunity we have been blessed with and the people that we get to meet.”

With an appreciation for the family history successes of young and diligent workers, Lovers atWork has focused on helping youth to develop and to execute leadership skills, both in the atWork business and in the community. Not only are high-level positions at Lovers entrusted to young business leaders (some beginning to work at Lovers in their teens), but opportunities for youth in the community are sponsored by Lovers atWork (including scholarships and training and mentoring initiatives for interior design college students).

Merely having good furniture solutions in stock is not enough to keep customers satisfied for over decades. Lovers atWork is also known for their first-class customer service. A values-based personnel sets them apart from the rest of the field. From individual consultations, personal on-site evaluations, and on-going phone and email conversations, the Lovers atWork design team ensures that the client is heard and that their needs are met. From the showroom staff to the designers to the installation team, every atWork team member takes time to get it right for each client.

In January 2020, Lovers atWork Office Furniture transitioned to a new generation of owners… Rodney Lover and long-time team members Jeff Douglass and Andrew Kaikkonen – both started with the company early in their career. As an ownership trio and with an awesome team, they look forward to many more years outfitting clients for workday success.

I think brick and mortar stores are good, but Jeff's is the best! Just finished purchasing items from both clearance and new, and Debbie and Aaron don't just know everything about office furniture, they were kind, took time to really listen and we ended up really confident in our purchase. We were offered delivery, set up and assembly, in store partial assembly ... just felt that Jeff's had the ability to meet our needs regardless of what we wanted. Good to know they are local too!! They think they made just one sale, but I know I'll be back for more ;-)

Classic spice table top 60x30Absolutely awesome! Was packaged securely, and delivered right on time (Got a call a day before delivery regarding the delivery date and time-11:30 AM, the next day item was delivered at 11:26 AM) – shows how super professional these guys are!The table top looks great on my black standing desk frame. Stunning finish and touch feel on the laminate. Corners are not too rounded, just enough to give the sharp tight look. Looks rock solid and durable. Pretty sure its going to last a lifetime! I was looking to buy a Hon Ignition 2.0 chair for my home office and atWork had the best deal in the area (and far cheaper than Amazon!). Plus, I was able to customize the chair to my liking and have it shipped to my home for free. My impression is that atWork typically deals with businesses and not individuals but I'm very satisfied with their service buying just one chair. The chair itself is pretty nice too!

I was shopping for a personal office chair and decided to go with atWork because of their comprehensive product descriptions and excellent customer service. I ordered a custom chair and they were very clear about the production and delivery time (The chair arrived right when they said it would!). They followed up with me throughout the process as well in case I had any questions or concerns. The chair itself is great and exactly as they described. Highly recommend atWork as you won't go wrong with the quality of the products they offer, but if you do have a problem, their team will do their best to help you!

I was accidentally given the wrong part for my desk and someone from their team had personally driven the missing piece out to my house. Ordered an Icon Q2, it was easy to order online and the service team were prompt to answer my questions. Shipping was smooth once I was signed up for text alerts from the shipper.The chair is great. My old Serta chair had to be raised too far from the floor to reach the desk properly and then the arms couldn't be adjusted to the proper height. This chair fixes all of that. It does have a pretty stiff spring for leaning back, but you can lock the position.

Great service, and nice product selection with Canadian-made options. I was looking for a new desk table top and found atWork. They sell a nice variety of products. Unfortunately it seems most items are made-to-order, so there's a huge delay between ordering and shipping, but they're upfront about this and very clear. Customer support is super helpful, and the local delivery to Guelph went well -- they ended up delivering it 2 weeks early, which was wonderful. I'll definitely shop here again.

Ordered a Hon chair for home office, it came at a great price. They had to wait for a volume order for the item that is not normally carried in Canada so the order took a little while longer. Staff was very friendly and when my order came through a bit over a month it came pre-assembled. Not sure if their website was setup with individual buyers in mind, but it would be maybe nicer to have some sort of status updates on the account page. Overall though I got what I was looking for and delivery was free so no complaints. Clarification free delivery because I'm local to them.

Very happy with my standing desk and filing cabinet I ordered to help level up my working! There prices were decent but the quality seems amazing. These are going to last forever! Their communication was great throughout the process. A side benefit is they are a Canadian company and have a local warehouse.

atWork is a classic example of never judge a book by its cover. They’re not fancy, their website is definitely not as sleek as the big furniture brands - but their products and prices are top quality!If you’re looking to set up your home office in the post-pandemic era, I highly recommend you start with atwork’s refurbished Arron chair. Looks and feels brand new and is less than half the price of a new one.If you’re not sure what to buy, they also have a very helpful recommendations section on their website. I did my own research - and their recommendations are in line with those of independent reviewers.

Bought a table for my office. It came sooner than expected. Unfortunately it was not assembled and there were no pre-drilled holes for me to assemble. I contacted atWork and they sent someone that week to assemble it at no cost for me! It looks great! Excellent quality. We've had one in a different office for 15 years (Same one) and it stands the test of time!

This was a great experience. Love my new desk (Icon Straight desk with O legs). Putting it together was a simple task and the material is super strong. The O-legs are quite heavy and made from real steel. Delivery was amazingly quick and well communicated. Follow up and customer care is excellent. This was my first new desk ever, my old desk was bought used from the UWO in London - many decades ago. The desk is modern and the 66" width is now allowing me to run with two computers on my desk, as is needed during this work from home period. The height is just excellent and overall I am very happy with it.
